Determination of Modulus of Elasticity for Soft Materials using AFM from Bruker

This webinar investigates the advantages and usage of AFM on studying the mechanics of soft materials from Bruker. AFM methods to obtain absolute values of elastic modulus are described. This is demonstrated using polystyrene and polyurethane polymers.

The bulk moduli of elasticity of these polymers can be measured starting from indentations of as small as 2-3 nm. This is done by using either Force Volume or PeakForce QNM modes.
